01 Graduate pathways

Where BISLA
graduates go next.

A public, anonymised view of recorded graduate-study placements and selected career fields in BISLA’s alumni database.

161 recorded graduate-study placements
23 destination countries
60 named destination institutions or programmes

Unit of analysis: recorded placement, not an individual alumnus. The same person may have more than one recorded degree.

02 The record at a glance

Graduate study is both international and regionally connected.

The database records placements from 18 graduating cohorts. Among 161 documented placements, 123 are outside Slovakia. This is a record of known destinations, not a graduate-placement rate: the underlying alumni register has missing and unevenly updated fields.

International placements

76.4%123 of 161 recorded placements

Recorded career fields

13181.4% of placement records carry a non-empty career field

Public-interest & knowledge fields

26.0%34 of 131 career records, using a documented broad grouping

03 Destination ledger

Europe is the centre of gravity, with a broad outward reach.

Recorded graduate-study placements by destination region, 2009–2026. Slovakia and Czechia are shown separately to retain meaningful regional detail.

04 Leading study destinations

Recognisable destinations, recorded repeatedly.

Counts represent recorded placements, not people or admissions cycles.

The report names destination institutions because these are public educational entities. No individual affiliation, academic result, contact detail, or timeline is reported.

05 What graduates study

Graduate study continues the BISLA emphasis on ideas, societies, and institutions.

International relations, European studies, political science, and philosophy together account for 66 of the 161 placement records. Programme titles were consolidated into broad subject clusters only where the supplied record gave sufficient information.

06 Selected career outcomes

Career evidence shows an alumni community active across public, knowledge, civic, and commercial fields.

Career labels have been deliberately generalized. Employers, job titles, names, and personal trajectories have been removed. Entries denoting study, internships, or career breaks are retained only in the methodology view—not presented as employment outcomes.

What this means: The database contains many professional paths but is not a complete employment census. It supports examples of fields reached; it cannot support a claim about employment rates, salary outcomes, or causal effects of study.

07 Recorded across 18 cohorts

A long record, uneven by the completeness of each cohort’s updates.

Count of extracted graduate-study placements by BISLA graduation cohort. Later cohorts may still be studying; historical cohorts may have incomplete records.

Privacy

No names, contact details, postal addresses, quotations, graduation-year profiles, individual employers, or personally linkable career narratives are included. Job outcomes are reported as broad fields only.

Source and date

Analysis of the alumni database supplied for this report. The database includes entries with update dates ranging from 2014 to 2025, plus later cohort entries. Report prepared 19 September 2026.

Definitions

A placement is a distinct graduate institution or programme entered in the supplied database. When one record named two different destinations, each was counted separately. “International” means a destination outside Slovakia.

Coverage limits

This is a descriptive record of entries available in the database. It is not a survey, does not identify the total number of alumni, and should not be interpreted as a placement, employment, or admissions success rate.
